An ongoing supporter of local businesses, The Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) is pleased to announce Arvada-based Piper Electric Company won a Torch award for Marketplace Trust in the big business category at the Better Business Bureau's (BBB) eighth annual award ceremony on October 15, 2010.
According to BBB, Piper Electric was selected because the company is a team-oriented, learning-based organization committed to employee growth and training, while providing a high level of expertise and service for clients. Established in 1983, Piper Electric provides a full range of electrical contracting services for residential and commercial clients.
“We worked really hard for this and this is a true honor…everybody in here is a winner today,” said Piper Electric vice president Paul Miller.
BBB held the luncheon ceremony in front of an audience of approximately 370 business owners and representatives from nonprofit organizations. BBB reviewed nominees' applications in the areas of ethics and community leadership, long-standing reputation, marketing, advertising, management practices and training programs. The winners were selected by a panel of independent judges.
"This award is an honor and having personally done business with Piper Electric when I was a business owner, and here as the chamber president, I can honestly say it was well deserved," said Dot Wright, president for the Arvada Chamber of Commerce.
