Autumn has been busier than ever at the International Trade Office (ITO). Cleantech programs have blossomed under the CO-Exist program and other related opportunities. Our Americas team headed to Green Expo in Mexico City with eight Colorado companies; it was an amazing group of companies that supported each other throughout the week, and we assisted them with pre-arranged appointments with potential buyers and partners. One company realized an immediate sale and others report promising opportunities as a result. Our Asia Director hosted a forum with 80 Chinese buyers at the Water Environment Federation's annual trade show in New Orleans, WEFTEC, and introduced them to interested Colorado companies attending the show. Our Europe Director accompanied the Governor to Copenhagen and Helsinki to follow up with Vestas and other Danish companies interested in our State, and organized a Smart Grid Forum in Helsinki with five Colorado companies.
Other industries are just as important to us. We hosted the international panel at BioWest this year, where attendees learned about the risks and rewards of going global. And, we are completing the final review of applications for the Colorado Export Development Grant, to assist Colorado businesses interested in exploring opportunities in a new export market. To date, the program has yielded $33 in exports for every dollar awarded. Also, we hosted representatives from Israel this week to explore opportunities for partnering across a number of industries as a follow up to the Governor's mission to that country this past summer. Finally, I had the opportunity to visit with some Colorado exporters in southwest Colorado, and was truly inspired by the creativity and success of a number of companies with unique products.
This newsletter contains a number of opportunities for you; we hope you read about them and encourage you to participate.
